The General Society of Mayflower Descendants has hired a new Director of Genealogy and Research Services. Dr. Erin Scheopner joins us as DGRS after spending the past 6.5 years in London earning her Ph.D. in History and teaching at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her interdisciplinary research explores the relationship between media and politics in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Erin brings a broad range of international experience in higher education, non-profit, and local government settings. She is looking forward to working with the Board and supporting the Mayflower Society’s mission of research and educational programs that work to instill a passion for history and to protect, preserve, and interpret historical evidence. Dr. Scheopner will begin as DGRS in February 2022.
